Here is something I am doing just for fun. I posted this over at Moparts also, if you want click the link, take a look at the pics and see if you can tell us the name and location of this junkyard. I thought i would have some fun with this before I reveal the location. Good Luck!

The bugle sounds the charge begins. But on this battlefield no one wins.

Bandit72

i don't know, but i really wish there was a yard like that around here....
Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....

Wrong....It is in Michigan and visible from one of our major north/south freeways.

That's a lot of cars! I bet it's a lot harder to see during the summer, with all those trees around.
So, I see a fairly new house on the hill...are they developing that land now & all those cars are gonna be crushed next week?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

No the house has always been there. Well at least since I first visited the place in 89 The old lady said they have been around for 40 years. Parts are way overpriced which explains why most of them have been sitting there for 20 to 30 years without a single part removed form them. You can also buy whole cars. $2500 and up she says. Not sure I saw one in there that was worth $2500 though.

Ghoste

Did she say why she hasn't cashed in on the big Chinese steel buying boom like most of the other operators.

69DodgeCharger

Actually they have crushed a lot of stuff but she said they are keeping all the "old stuff"

I guess the house looked newer than it is. That sucks that they think they are sitting on a gold mine. :-[

Thanks for sharing the pics though, it's still fun to look at. ;D

Ghoste

Good for her.  Even if it is expensive, at least it's being saved.

69DodgeCharger

This car has been there since my first visit. it gets a lot worse each time they move it.

The question is, is it open to the public. I see a few parts I'd like to go check out. :)

69DodgeCharger

yes open till 5:00 pm Monday-Saturday, but they don't give price quotes over the phone. You have to go there in person and find the part and then the yard guy will go out and look at it and give you a price.....Take a deep breath before he does is all I can say!

Another winner!

The yard is called Fox's Used Cars and Parts
Harrison, MI
989-539-7119

As far as parts prices go.Unbelievably high. Which is why as I said earlier most of these cars have been sitting with no parts sold off from them for 20-30 years. I told the lady running it you could get most of the stuff she has on Ebay for much less and her response was "then maybe you should buy them off from Ebay"....Sadly most of this stuff will end up going to the crusher probably. But if you have a day to waste it is worth just walking around the yard.

Very ridiculous!....Call and ask and you'll see for yourself! That is if they can bother to walk out there and actually look at the part...which is doubtful. "They don't have time" as I was told.

I have a yard not too far from me that is just like that.  And a second one that is much higher priced.
