Well..... it finally happened.  My wife and I went into the hospital last night at 8 PM to start the induction for our baby to be delivered.  When we went in there, they gave her some medication and she started to have contractions right away.  The night went on and things progressed veeeerrrrryyyy  slowly.  A little more than 22 hours later of contractions and nothing progressing the natural way, the doctor decided to have a C section and out popped our newest addition to the family.  Hailey Elizabeth.  Weighing 7 lbs 11 oz. (my wifes birthday is July 11, aka 7/11.  It gets weirder, she was 19" long, born on 12/19, at 6:19 PM.  Now how freaky is that for repetitive numbers?????? :o  Needless to say afte 22 hours of steady contractions, my wife was quite exhausted.  Mother and baby are doing fine and she is the cutest little thing.  Ok, maybe not little at 19" but you know what I mean.  Next thing on my checklist cause she is so cute is to buy a gun, shovel, and a couple bags of lime to be ready when the boys start coming over. ;D  I don't think that I have ever gotten such a great Christmas present ever.  Ok, maybe if I ever get a 69 1/2 Daytona, it might be close.  Anyway, here are a couple pics I took that turned out ok of our newest addition to the family.

Please excuse the wife's hair, looks, etc as she was extremely exhausted and was tired of photos from her family (11 total brothers, sisters, step sisters, and step brothers and mothers, fathers and step fathers, compared to me, an only child and my two parents.)

Hope everyone has a safe and Happy Holidays.  (I  know I will.   )

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Thanks for the quick and warm welcomes and congrats. My wife is doing much better today and was up and walking around. When I was not there this morning (at physical therapy for my knee), the pediatrician came in and told my wife that the baby had a slight heart murmur and they wanted to do an EKG on her. Also that the babies blood was combatting my wifes blood, something about a positive, B. Coons test they did. We have yet to find out further about that. As for the EKG, the cardiologist called us and mentioned that there were a couple small holes in between two ventricles. He said there is about an 80% chance that there will be no problems and the heart will grow and close up the holes themselves but as you can imagine, my new found father skills perked up and I am now nerveous.  :-\ I am sure she will be fine but that was not really the news I wanted to hear. So far, I guess everything is as good as can be expected. Baby Hailey is already holding her head up on her own and is very active and alert. She was lifting herself off of me today when I was trying to burp her on my shoulder. The one nurse was suprised as when she was checking her out, she was basically standing on her one leg as the nurse supported her side to side under her arms. So I guess she is strong already, which is good cause I could always use a good strong set of hands working on the car. ;)

I'll keep everyone posted.
