mechanical or electric?

i'm currently wiring my dash with aftermarket gauges, and was wondering which water temperature guage is best suited for my 68, electrical or mechanical?
my oil pressure gauge is mechanical.

i would fit a mechanical  water temp gauge ,  i never really trust electric  gauges

Are mechanical guages easier to install then electrical?  I also would like advice on what type of guages to put in my car.  Should they all be mechanical if possible?  What kind of fabrication is involved in switching guage types.

I used electric gauges in my car (as a suppliment to my factory gauges) because they are a cleaner install for my application.

I didnt want to see a big capillary tube in my waterpump housing or a plastic oil filled tube to my block in my engine compartment.

I hid the gauges from plain view in my interior so i wanted the same stealthyness in my eng compt.

                                      ,   electrical gauges  can be hidden better  , and you can wrap the wires from the gauge senders  to the existing harness  & they will be virtually  disguised

just wait until your oil pressure like decides to burst on your way down a track....     been there....    isnt very fun...

Go mechanical.....in fact...the 1 1/2 inch gauges  fit right into the existing holes of the dash face tightly  and perfectly!!!   Just try to find a 1 1/2  fuel gauge.....I'm still looking for one!!!
