shifter problems

Calling all the Mopar Gods.  I can't get my car to shift in gear.  I have a 70 charger with a 318 and a 904 tranny.  Car is a column shift.  I think something broke in the column.  The linkage wont move when I shift it into gear.  The column feels real loose when putting it into gear, and it starts up if I put the car in R-N-D-2-1.  I know the neutral safety switch is good.  Could this be a easy fix. or do I need a new column?

probably an easy fix , something loose or diconnected int he column , there were tons of column shift cars if you need parts
