Being that the wife was laid off two weeks ago, her and I will probably get a mutual gift for each other. We will focus our attention on the kids, 7 months, 6  and 16 years..

My present will be if Smitty gets my '68 Charger painted and I can bring her home by New Year's Eve.......

I always do something a tad different.  This year I wrote a sappy poem that included most family and friends and incorporated it into a sappy dvd that I made that went through a few pictures of the folks I mentioned with the requisite piano solo of silent night.  Go to www.marlia.com if you want to read the poem.  Kim

It's always a good idea to buy things for others that you know they won't use, but you will. Like the pneumatic impact wrench I got for my wife, & the coupon book for 20 car washes for my 7 year old. :D

I actually haven't bought much & have no idea what to get this year, except for the new computer my daughter wants. :shruggy:

I'm in the same boat as Chris.

Except that I do have to buy a present for my wife each year. This year still undecided.

Lets see, I got my daughter (4y) a silver pendant with her name in English and Arabic on it, along with " "heart" (love) DADY" in the third side. Aslo I hand decorated ornament that is "plum crazy", black, and gold in Arabic designs. For my Mom a ceramic "thing" from my layover in Spain. She collects that stuff. I could not find anything that my Dad, brother, or my sister-in-law would like, so thay got nothing (yet). Although last year I got her (him really  :D ), a really short "plum crazy" Kamono (sp?) to use as a bath robe. In the right lighting it becomes slightly tranparent. My bro loves it! I almost forgot The girlfriend has a "handbag fetish", so I got her a Gucci bag(for X-mas), and a Chanel bag(for when I get home), hey they were $40 each so they must be real, right?  ???  :icon_smile_big:

NOTHING!  I told my whole family years ago, I'm not buying anything and don't you buy me anything. If you want to buy a Christmas present, buy one for yourself.  After several years of receiving useless, thoughtless trash that always wound up in the garbage on the 26'th I finally put my foot down. :flame:

My only concern for shopping is my wife because she covers the rest - mostly. I get the bills, though.  :icon_smile_blackeye:

I got her a few nice things that she hinted at. A sweater, a funky bean-bag type pillow from Brookstone to replace her old one, and some other stuff.
For a surprise, I got her a neck and shoulder massage thingy from Brookstone too.

And the big surprise:

She got me one earlier this year for my birthday. Ever since she's wanted one "So that we'd match."
I hate the idea of matching clothes but I guess this is better than matching track suits, huh?
