I demoed the "Diezel Einstein" today,.. seemed pretty sweet tone wise but there were so many distractions and the sales folk wern't up to speed,..
in any case i'm lookin into it...
problems include the extreamly high price $3K! no footswitching and a lack of effects... (only a reverb noone could get to work)
any opinions from the site's resident guitarists would be appreciated...

every few or several years i go out and see what's new hot and exciting last time this led me the millenium stereo 350 which has sadly expired..(the comapny incl. it's customer support and the factory and sales sadly)

so im about to begin recording again this weekend after a six year pause and i'm in the market for the latest and the greatest...
suggestionsand tips appreciated.

Never heard of those, Brock. They new??

I stick with good ol' tried & true: Marshall JCM 2000 triple channel & head with a Mesa 2x12 closed back cab, & a Mesa Booga Dual-Rec 2X12 combo amp.

new to me too...
the testimonials in the link are pretty glowing and i was impressed though Guitar Center's main showroom with three different videos going on and constant PA announcments arn't really a good venue for a test.
did ya' see the prices?!  :P

Another vote for Mesa!!!!

I knew you were good people, Bill. :2thumbs:

I know I'm just a bass player, but I've yet to find another amp that stands up to my 400+.

That coupled with my 8x10 and newly aquired 15", I'm pretty much set.

The only other piece of electronics I use is a BBS Sonic Maximizer.

Well, and a Big Muff pedal.  :icon_smile_big:

Back to the original question, I've never even heard of that brand, Strato. :shruggy:

OF COURSE I'm good people! (Gee, I hope ya didn't think I was a scumbag, or somethin'...)  :icon_smile_tongue:

I forget what the bass player in my band uses, but I know he uses Ampeg cabs. I've heard very good things about the BBS. I tried it a few times, never sprung for it. Too many other things were in the way at the time.

The band I play in gigs quite frequently. (Yes, it's a COVER band, I can almost hear the groans already!) The Marshall comes in handy at the larger venues we do, I use mostly Boss effects in a Pedal Pad board with it. For the smaller venues, the Mesa Dual-Rec combo is perfect, & with that I use a Vox Tone Lab pedalboard. I like the Tone Lab, it sounds much more natural than the processed sounding Line 6, Pod or Korg stuff.

Brock/Strato, hit GC during the week in the daytime when it's slower, if you can. You'll never hear anything during a busy weekend, the place is mobbed. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for them next time I'm there.

I haven't seen one of those come through the studio yet but I'm sure one will soon. Sounds like they are similar to VHT or mesa in being a rock/metal head. I've seen alot of newer brands come out in the last 5 or so years but still, it's the old marshalls and mesas and even the small single speaker vox amps that record the best.

time limitations this weekend mean im going pretty much straight into the board but most of what i'm recording is my 12 string so that is gonna be a new one for me... i'm gonna go back with my axe  just to see... well, actually hear..
btw i was there in the middle of the day,,,  :-\

Nearly everyone I know who has (or had) a Mesa Boogie has had some sort of problem. (including myself)

Maybe save up your spare change and get a Dumble amp.  ;)    http://homepage.mac.com/bill_jpn_morgan/Treasures/amp/dumble-e.html

Odd, my experience has been the exact opposite.

But I guess its that way with just about any product.
