Anyone know where I can get these other than ebay? I was taught yesterday how to check our gauges and repair them and I'm needing some equipment..

Also looking for something that can supply 12v and reduce to 5v... Anything out there other than a battery charger with a 12-to5v reducer?

Troy, do a search here for "gauge test" or something similar.  there were instructions on how to make one very cheap with radioshack parts, and even a list of what the values should be when testing.

this might help:
Chrysler made a tool for checking guage calibration. It's basicly a can with two wire leads attached to it with a three position rotary switch that selects one of three resistance values.

The LOW position is 73 ohms
The MIDDLE position is 23 ohms
The HIGH position is 10 ohms

Temperature guage (a little vague)
The L position should read "C" plus or minus 1/8th inch
The M position should read in the driving range left of the 1/2 position on the dial.
The H position should read "H" on the dial.

Oil guage (also a little vague)
The L position should read "L" plus or minus 1/8th inch.
The M position should read 1/2 on the dial
The H position should read "H" on the dial

Fuel guage (better)
The L position should read empty plus 1/32nd or minus 3/32nds
The M position should read 1/2 on the dial
The H position should read full plus 3/32nds or minus 1/32nd

also, the one you pictured on the bag is only 19 bucks right now.  maybe that one will be cheap enough to buy..

Yeap, I could buy resistors from Radio Shack or it's equivalent and put them in series to make the desire resistance for the various ohms values relative to low, medium and high. I'm not a big solderer, so wanna avoid making something.. Thanks for the search criteria suggestion. I'll see what I come up with.......

PS: printed out the value list above and it matched the values pretty closely to the values my friend had....
