69 Charger SE.  3.91 gears. With the rearend jacked up I spin one wheel the other spins the opposite direction.
On the ground both tires spin and leaves 2 black marks on the road.

Thanks.

if the wheels spin opposite directions then it's open...idk why but sometimes under perfect conditions both wheels will spin...my charger at certain spots will put itself sideways and leave 2 black marks but most of the time it's only one
Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....

I believe in an "open" differential situation,  the centrifugal force of the car when turning left or right, determines which wheel will spin...i.e.  Turn left...the left tire spins...turn right,  the right tire spins.   Sometimes on a straight run, that will happen though.

With an open Diff the wheel with the least amount of traction should spin, with a posi the opposite is true and usually will spin both or alternate the one with the most traction. The open diff can alternate traction with the wheel with the least amount as well.

Have you jacked up your charger and spun the rearend?SOunds like you may have a posi or a worn posi. But an open diff can spin both under certain conditions but rarley
