8 1/4 reare end

I have a 69 with this rear end. There is a tag that has 2 7 on it. What does that mean? Also, I was thinking about putting a posi unit in.
Are these pretty strong or should I consider a 8 3/4.?? Not sure what gear ratio it is.

8 1/4 was not supposed to be put in the HP cars, big blocks or 4 barrell, but I have one under my 74 with a 400.  I had one under my Challenger that was a 6 cyl car.  I would put a 8 3/4 under it if it were mine.

the 8 1/'4 is a light duty diff , I would upgrade also
