You know how they made the "MonkeeMobile" to do wheelies in the 1960s?  They just solid-mounted the rear axle of one of the GTOs and then added a whole bunch of heavy ballast in the back end.  Voila! Problem solved.

You know what they did for "Herbie" the Love Bug?  They literally lifted the Beetle's front end off the ground with thin cables for the wheelie shots.  Problem solved.


But what does MODERN Hollywood do? 

They pay skilled fabricators to invent special-effected hydraulic bars underneath the Charger, and then digitially edit it all out later one frame at a time, totalling up probably tens of thousands of dollars spent for that little scene . . . and it still looked completely fake compared to the olde cheap ways.

Yeah, one of the biggest faults in that scene. Show me any car that can really do that.

at first I was askly beliving that scene when I went back and watch that very scene myself and got thinking.."how in the heck can a charger do a wheelie and spin the tires AT the same time?" somthing there just didn't add up right, the light goes green and the charger starts spining the tires and the front end goes up an the car is still spining for a second with the nose up in the air! LOL

What crack me up was the side shot scenes of the 1/4 mile run where the supra was next to the rear driver side of the charger and the next shot they show the supra trying to catch up to the charger LOL an was alittle back behind the charger.

yea now that you mention it, that charger should have slam into that semi truck instead of flipping, how in the heck would a flip like that happen if all 4 tires is pose to be on the ground and the car (when Vin Look) was already right on the semi? I know they had a pipe ramp set up but in real life with no grad rails or anything how would that had happen?

if i remember correctly  it was just a  B  or  an RB   motor with a 4 barrel  & a dummy blower   bolted to the hood . probaberly had the sound dubbed in from something else also, when you see the engine  shot  it has a blown  old  392 type   whale motor in it , witch i thought was unusual ,  instead of useing  a elephant motor  ,  same as the other thread  when was the last time you saw a car carrying the front wheels of the line & smoking the tires , i think not but hey thats Hollywood and ricer movies

Actually, there a plenty of highly modded street supras that run 10's and even 9's in the quarter..go to streetfire.com and search "supra" and there is one running low 10's on street tires.

That's what I though also. As a grand finale to the Dukes of Hazzard's seventh season, the General Lee wheel-stander was to be used in the last episode Opening Night At The Boar's Nest and to be used regularly throughout the eighth season. The Second Unit Director insisted that the blower on top of the motor in the back seat not been seen in the final cut, so a lower profile carburator was installed. With the carburator installed, the motor was unable to lift the front wheels off of the ground with two actors in the front seats. Therefore, this entire scene was scrapped.

The only thing that was realistic in that scene was that the charger threw a rod and the supra had to take a 2nd shot of N2O to keep up with it 
Though a friend of mine works at Westboro Toyota Dodge, they had at least 1 800+hp twin turbo Supra around the shop.

nea he didn't crash.. he just tript is all LOL .. but the landing was a doozy though! They reused that charger in Herbie Fulley Loaded where Lindsay Lohan set inside it. When they make FNF4 I hope they bring the "Hammer" back with Vin and maybe some mopars and or even afew 3rd gen chargers for you 3rd gen car lovers LOL. It would be nice to see them halfting to jump an intersection with a charger but making the car serive the landing though or any kind of jump with a mopar an have it serive.

In FNF2 they had a Camero also, what year was that as I'm not good with those kind of cars, arn't they mopars also? I'm mostly good with 2nd Gen chargers. Yea it made me alittle sad when they crash the Challenger in FNF2 and then jump the Camero LOL, the challenger got a  . They could have had spared the Challenger.. poor car  .

I had heard the same thing before that the F&F car was the on in Herbie Fully Loaded EXCEPT I know that the Volo Museum bought the crashed Charger before Herbie Fully Loaded ever started filming and had it in their Museum with a price tag of $50,000. The one in Herbie Unloaded was greenish with numbers and decals all over it. Unless there were two crashed Chargers in F&F....
