I might be buying my buddies used snowboard off him. Hes giving me a good price its 300 Canadian for board boots and bindings. its a good setup for me to learn. But last year while he was boarding in BC he snaged a root or something chipped the tail. its right up at the top. Dosnt look very bad at all. Was wondering If this would cost alot to fix? Or if it would be easy to even do it myself maybe.

Anyone been their and done that?

$300!? Jeez! Are you sure this guy is a friend? Go on Ebay and buy a junker for $5. http://cgi.ebay.com/ABUSED-SANTA-CRUZ-SNOWBOARD-151-3X-WIDTH_W0QQitemZ130044414695QQihZ003QQcategoryZ21250QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Or go down to the local hawk shop and get one for $50-$100. Can I be your buddy? I've got a brand new 151 snowboard I'll sell you for $200 shipped.

That's board, boots and bindings Bull - and it's Canadian dollars. My bindings cost more than that... ;)

As for that itty bitty nick, I wouldn't worry too much about it since it's not on a part that will be on the ground much. If you're really a beginner you're going to cause more damage than that in a few trips up the lift. Watch it closely though because if it causes the board to delaminate you're hosed. There is a reinforcement strip that you can buy and screw on to hold the tip together. It looks to be an older model though so I wouldn't plan on keeping it too long.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Yea, I know. The board I'm selling has bindings too and I have a couple pairs of size 9 boots and one pair of size 8 boots to choose from. Besides, the Canadian dollar is only worth $.13 less than ours, so what would that be, $226? He'd still be saving money, and it's a new board.

FWIW, I wouldn't worry about the nick either. It'll have more than that by the time you're done with it.

Here's mine:

Mean 318

Are you sure that you don't need a wide board? I have fat feet and my toes dig in if I use a normal board. I have 11.5 feet :flame:

Oh yea, that's the case with pretty much everything. :yesnod: Next time I'd just go down to the hawk shop or keep an eye on the local thrift stores, especially in summer.
