Back in 1999 I was last minute preparing on moving to Oklahoma City and I had alot of stuff in my garage....so much stuff that I didnt know what to do with it.  :-\ I was really stressed for time.
Earlier that day I had paid a guy to haul away some stuff for me,but however he would only take so much stuff for the money. At the time I didnt have more dinero to be paying for stuff to be taken away.

I had a stupid idea to solve a part of my problem.  :rotz:
I had a very good driver side 70 Charger fender leftover from a recent project that I didnt know what to do with so I went out waaaaay into the country side and left it in a row of trees and forgot about it..... ::)

I know that i shouldnt have done this, but I was desperate, needed to get rid of it and nobody would take it for free at the time.  ???
So dont flame me telling me how illegal and wrong I was to dump this by the roadside as I already know and regret it!  :icon_smile_angry:

Fast forward to 2006 and I am almost done with my 70 Charger RT 4speed car and a few months ago purchased a 70 Charger 500 PlumCrazy car....it needs a driver side fender.  ::)
So I got to thinking....I wonder if it is still out there???? Nahhhhh, surely some road crew has picked it up or it has rusted away to nothing.

Well I just had to see, so I hopped in my truck to go have a look and since it is fall most of the trees do not have leaves.I thought
I might have seen it from the roadside....I did! I parked, scooped it up and it looks like the day I dropped it off! It sat there for 7yrs!!!!
It is still in good condition and better than 90% of the stuff on ebay! At one time I had sprayed PPG K36 on it and I believe that is what helped preserve it so well. I have my driver side fender now! Here are some pics!!!
It has minor surface rust that will be media blasted off!  :icon_smile_big:

Awesome, now go back and see if theres a right fender for '70 charger that I need for my clone! I did the same thing w/a pair of valve covers once from a 273 Hi-Po. Sure enough, they were still in a car I sold almost 6 years to the date in the trunk, the guy gave them to me not knowing what they fit, I traded them for some 440 parts worth $600.00

Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Thanks for not being too judgemental guys!
I feel I am very lucky that it was still there and in great shape.
Now you never know what you may still find laying out anywhere.....in the wild kingdom.  :icon_smile_big:

If you have no vision or creative spirit, you can always fall back on the way the factory did it.

bull

That is hilarious! I thought you were going to say you took it out there to hide it and maybe come back later for it but you really just wanted it gone. Glad you got it back.

Blakcharger440

No doubt about it Bull I wanted it gone!  :yesnod:
The guy that I paid to haul away some of the stuff took a Dana 60 truck rear with 3.54 suregrip gears that I had laying around
also that I simply had to get rid of too!  :rotz:

This just all means that we had better behave ourselves or our bodies might never be found (only Blakcharger!440 will know!)

Being in the Airforce, I get moved from Base to Base every few years. And of course, I'm a packrat by nature, so I tend to accumulate car parts whenever I'm not in motion.
A few years back, I parted out a 1969 Charger and sold a fair amount of the good stuff at various swapmeets. However, I hung onto the buckets as they were almost mint.
Then of course, I get posted...again. And Everything has to go.
I knew a fellow with a horse panch who let me stash a couple of truckloads of parts way out on his back 40.
And unfortunately, in the 12 years since, I've never gone back to see if anything is left.
Funny thing is, those buckets went out there, and I could really use the frames for my 1968 Charger R/T.
I'm sure the seat foam and vinyl are pretty pooched by now.
