I have used a pair of slider calipers from an '88 Diplomat on my '69 Charger.

My question:

There are 4 black rectangualr rubber bands that came with the hardware package to install these calipers - can anyone tell me where / how they are installed?

Thanks in advance.

Well, thanks for the link 71charger_fan!   :yesnod:

Seems there is a fella over on Moparts that has the same user name as me, is from the same area and is working on the exact same project as I am!   :D

Just trying to save folks from reinventing the wheel. For the record, I tossed the black rubber bands when I put new Volare calipers on my Charger. The calipers I took off an actual Volare didn't have them so I didn't use them.

I used the slider calipers on my 69 also from a 78 Magnum.  I tossed the little rubber bands too.  They Magnum didn't have them so I figured they weren't necessary.

What brakes hoses did you use?

Everything looks great!  Tell us more about your car!

Mike,

I think that is the Gen. Lee clone Tom is building.

Indeed it is as said by Brian.  I am making a General Lee out of it.  The bodywork is about 75% completed.  I am working on blocking the body down and still have some repair work to do on the fenders and hood.  Then I'll block it a few more times until I'm happy with it, then in the booth it goes.  I'm using a stock interior, black in color since I already have all black interior parts.  I have a healthy 440 that needs a little detail and resealing, otherwise ready to go.  I have to still rebuild the rear and tranny, but that is no big deal.  I am hoping to have it ready for paint in a month give or take a few weeks, and have it running by mid spring.

The crappy rubber bands were a bandaid fix for rattling pads. They didn't really do Chit. The best place for them is the round file..
