I've got a 440 with a 727 that came out of my dads truck.  the tailshaft on the tranny is shorter than those that were used in cars.  I'm just trying to figure out by how much.  Does anyone have a tailshaft they can measure for me?

Rocky,
I swapped out a burnt 727 with a truck 727.  I transplanted the old tailshaft with no problems.  Also, I had to fabricate an "S" shaped bracket to get the linkage to line up correctly.  The mounting holes (for the linkage) were in a slightly different location.  Batteries are dead in my camera or I'd have pics, sorry.

hi rocky.  your trans sounds like its from a club cab ,which would make it approx 10 in shorter, it also will have a bolt on yolk. u will need a car or reg cab truck trans.
