I have never been much into slots.    I had some hot wheels as a kid and that was about it.

But my friend has a 1/32 track set up in his garage and I was goofing off with it the other week.   So I went and bought a Carrera 27144 '69 Charger 500 so I can go take it and goof off with my own stuff tomorrow.    The paint on this is really nice.   It'll be a shame to launch this thing over a guardrail.   I'm sure the spinners will go flying pretty shortly too.

Carrera has other Chargers,  Daytonas, Superbirds,  Road Runners in 1/32 also.

The Charger ran fairly well.    The tires leave something to be desired compared to the aftermarkets my friend has on his cars.     It was pretty fast.     Anyway I whacked it up several times and lost the whole rear bumper / valance / tailight panel off the back.   I'll epoxy that back on.  Most of my friend's cars are missing rear bumpers.    The spinners and mirrors stayed on tho.
After awhile it got worked in and I was perfecting my powersliding around the tight turns...   then I finally opened the bag that came with the car and found a spacer for the rear magnet to bring it closer to the track.   Well that went and changed everything cause it started holding on a lot better but then it was late.
All in all not bad out of the box.    I might check out  the #71 Daytona or the flat black Charger.

I'm still hoping to score one of the Black 500's for a fair price. Then again I'm cheap.

I Love the slot cars also and have been racing them since I was a kid. I run the larger 1/25 scale cars they have a homemade brass frame and you use model car body's. Heres a pic of my race team of cars I run at my local track. [far right F-150 truck for the truck races Sorry. next 69 Daytona. next Johan 70 superbird. and last is a 73 Charger. I am lucky my local track is a huge 180' 8 lane track thats very fast that looks like Daytona. I have alot more cars also but most are tore up bad as when you wreck going this fast there is not much left.

A decent review of the Carrera 500 I bought.  http://www.homeracingworld.com/carrerastreetcharger.htm

Apparently there's some aftermarket tires available for it also that I'll look into.

I've got four Carrera Superbirds, two street and two race cars. I also have two Carrera Daytonas, the #99 and the #71. I find the Carrera performance to be disappointing compared to my Scalextrics. But Scalextric doesn't have the classic Mopar muscle cars. I sold all my Aurora HO from the '60s and '70s this summer and bought into 1:32.

I ordered the Carrera #71 Daytona and a set of 7009 Indy Grip rear tires.

Supposedly there are 7016 Indy tires for the Charger with the spinners but I couldn't find them to order 'em.
