Cool air - Tires spin

I forgot the one thing I love about this time of year. When the temp gets into the 40s, the tires "light up" with very little provocation. :icon_smile_evil:

what kind of tires would those be?..  ;D

Strat,

I have Radial T/As on the Chargers 275x60X15
On the Challenger I have Firestone Indy 500s 255x60x15
The radial T/As look more correct, but the Indy 500s handle better. (BYW, this is the first Firestone tire I have had that I don't absolutely hate.)

From my experience, Radial T/A's get pretty sticky after a "little provocation", even if it is cold outside. :icon_smile_big:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

The charger w/ 225's spins bad enough in the summer. But in the winter even my Jeep spins the tires real easily.

Oooh, oooh, pick me, Professor Ron! As rubber cools it becomes harder and that equates to less flex in the tires and less traction. It's easier to drag a brick across pavement than a sponge. :icon_smile_big:

I work with a bunch of engineers. Some are actually rocket scientists. They all say cooler air lets the engine run more efficiently. Sort of an mini-NOS concept.

Who am I to give tech advise, I'm just a beancounter. All I know is the seat of the pants feel. It is the engine running better more than the change in tires viscosity as far as I can tell.

It's really hard to to "Lite em up" at every opportunity......I guess I'm old, but not grown up.

Excellent ! Brian, have you had Black Betty out to the track ? I'd imagine you'd be having the same issues as Jim (471Magnum) at the line.

-agreed, variously hued pixels in a rectangular formated file  linked to this thread would be nice to validate your claims and has the added bonus of giving wood to most of the thread viewers.

Yeah...  sit'n'spin or the idle'n'bog...   Take your pick.   Either way nets 2.1 60's.
