Where to start?

I will probably get a lot of opinions on this, but here goes...

I recently bought a 66 Charger - good running condition, 383 4BB, Auto, AC.  Interior is very good, body solid, a few rust spots, frame excellent.

Some issues:  AC doesnt work, engine leaks a bit of oil, headlights dont hide away, rear bumper is bent, tail light assembly probably needs replaced, etc (but overall not bad for a 40 year old car that hasn't been babied in any way)

What I want to do is restore as a driver.  As I go along, if I get to a point where the car is restored enough to consider as a show car, then maybe I'll change my mind, but until then, I want to enjoy driving it.

Looking for ideas on where to start - body, engine, electrical, interior?

Thanks for any thoughts!

If you want to make a driver out of the car then I would start with the drivetrain, brakes & electrical.....making it look pretty could come second.

Good luck!

I wouldn't do anything that will disable the car from being used. The last thing that will get you motivated is a big pile of parts and an empty shell sitting around. Trust me....I know.  :-\

You should also check out the 66-67 Charger forum and the 66-67 Charger registry.  There is also a 66-67 Charger source guide online and between those 3, you should have little trouble finding parts and information on the unique aspects of the car.
