I have the correct fan for my car that I want to use. The old clutch is leaking fluid and needs replaced. Anyone know of a clutch sold by auto parts stores that at least "LOOK" original?

Can't the dealer supply one?

First pic is the clutch fan and fan blade I used out of a later big block. It looks similar to the original, but it is different.

I later found the correct fan in a junkyard but have not painted it up yet. From what I hear the clutch is correct for a 318 with A/C but, not correct for a 440 4 speed I guess. The fan blade shares the same part number.

Can you relpace just the clutch unit?

Hey guys, thanks for the responses. I have that original fan 694spdRT. What my question was is where can I get the clutch that looks factory original? Or close to original looking.

1969 383/440/426 engines that did not have A/C used the 2806070 Viscous-drive fan clutch.   It does not have the thermal spring on the front.

Good 070 cores are hard to find.   There is a guy down in Florida that restores them, and when he's done they look brand-spanking new.   Some of his clutch units pop up on eBay every now and again, but they usually go for $500+ (restored) when found.   His name is Fred Oliva, Vintage Automotive Research, (954) 755-1161.   He might or might not have a restored 070 in stock and/or for sale.

The nice thing about the fan clutch is that you can't see the front of the clutch when the shroud is installed, and VERY few people know the difference in how the clutch units look from the back side.   Run whatever you want to.   On my Hemicar, I bought the MP 4120758 thermal clutch fan kit from my local dealer.   It was 59 bucks (back in 1998) for the 5-blade fan, clutch and bolts... I pitched the 5-blade fan and re-used a 7 blade I had laying around.

Thanks for the info Geno. I did not realize it, nut this one I have has the spring on the front, so I guess that one isnt correct anyway. Your right, $59 is a heck of alot better than $500 fro a clutch. I will take that part number to my Dodge dealer and check it out. Thanks!
