MCG's article about one of Mopar's biggest rip-off artists

I'm posting this for those of you that don't read Mo-par Collector's Guide. This month's issue has a lengthy article about Mopar's biggest rip-off artist. The guys name is Dennis Tuttle and he scammed numerous people for hundreds of thousands of dollars. The article stated that Ebay was his biggest tool.

One example of what he did goes like this: He represented himself as a high end restoration shop. Rich customers would send extremely valuable Mopars to him for restoration. He would then sell parts off the cars through Ebay and then sell the cars themselves as restoration projects.

The point of all this is there are 2 cars that are still missing that the owners would like help in finding. One is a 1970 blue Hemicuda, vin BS23R0B242265, the other is a white Superbird, vin RMZ23U0A174584. These were stolen out of Illinois and both believed to be hidden in Tulsa, OK. If anyone should run across these cars MCG would like to be contacted immediately. Their number is 225-274-0609.

It is really sad that there are so many bad people.

Good thing we don't have to worry about stuff like reproduction VIN tags, reproduction fender tags, reproduction blank broadcast sheets, unstamped warranty blocks, or the stamps used to make the accurate & correct fonts. Someone could actually rip someone off.   ::)

That sucks...I don't know how people like that can sleep at night.

Does the article say whether this Tuttle guy is doing time in jail yet?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

The article states "As of this writing, Dennis Tuttle had been booked into the Jefferson Parish Prison and was to be sent to Tennessee. However, once his arrest was in the system, the state of Illinois filed claim on him" (for parole violation and stealing cars).

That's all it said. I'm sure future editions will have more about this guy because a lot of what he did is still being sorted out. He was essentially a walking disaster and screwed everbody that he could.

Jeez, that's just evil. >:(  You don't mess with a mans car.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Just read the article. Tuttle posted on moparts for a while when there was a big tizzy about the first million dollar cuda sale that supposedly Tuttle was invovled in. I can't believe he is still alive after reading about the number of people he robbed.

I haven't gotten that issue yet so I obviously haven't read the article.  Was he working by himself or are there partners still out there?

He had accomplices, some knowingly, some innocently. The article says "we'd like to see some more arrests made to finish cleaning all the rats out of the cellar."
