It's the original block, were the block "had" to be decked bored over 60 thousands different cam (need to still get the cam specs from the engine builder) :-\

Originally came with the 2bbl.  barrel exhaust manifolds    :rotz:
Now it has the cast iron 4bbl intake off another '69 AND the Hp manifolds as well  :icon_smile_shy:

Also it does have  roller rockers  (didn't do any porting)

firefighter (neal?)  referred me the "7 quart oil pan" from mancini racing :icon_smile_big:
This really has been a project all by it self :yesnod: thus far

My 69, make sure you join the "The Dodge Charger" registry. You could take it to a registry meet and get all sorts of comments and ideas for you car.
If it ain't wide open; it ain't running.        Rule number one in motocross racing: Pin it; row the gear box; and wait until you hit something.     At work my motto is: If you need me, call someone else.

Before you fire it up, REMOVE THAT FRAM FILTER !!!!!  Put a quality filter on instead of that FRAM JUNK!  No sense to ruin a freshly rebuilt motor with a crappy filter!

Aside from that nice job.  Looks great. Any reason why you painted the exhaust manifolds black?

Sound great! Deputy.

I kinda was planning on the registry thing down the road. I didn't think now would be the time :-\
On the registry meets were are they useally located at?

resq302,
I wish you would tell that to my engine builder he's the one who stuck that "ORANGE" thing on there ???
Beings we agreed THAT I bring the charger back at his establishment,he was going to fire it off after I get her ready to run :yesnod:
And If I removed and let's say I put a WIX filteron it he'll probably come unglued  :icon_smile_dissapprove:

Oh on the manifolds I just like to "set off" the green colors.  (I GUESS I like to be alittle different AND break the rules) :horse:

It's your engine, use what makes you comfortable. Remind him that its your engine. He may have forgotten. On the Registry thing. They have 5 regional meets a year. That way more people attend for the year. You should sign up now and go BEFORE the car is finished and you will get to look at around 100 Chargers in one setting. You will get a milion ideas and way too much information on your build. You will come away from the meet with even more understanding about Chargers in general. Plus the people are cool too. A show with nothing but Chargers to look at. :drool5:

use the fram filter for the break in period...   gotta change it anyway - I have good luck with K&N filters

Yeah I like that reply :2thumbs: That way I can keep the pressurre in it. Still if I change the fiter now i'll loose all that pressure :yesnod: My engine builder pressurized the engine so it will be less wear on those "internal" parts when we fire her off.

I'm not sure if that made any sense to any of ya :-\ But it somewhat does with me :-[
For sure I will choose something like K/N

Gotta run to work had a great time talking with ya guys

Pressurized?  Do you mean that he spun it up a little to get oil everywhere?  However that oil would've drained back into the pan by now...

dodge freak

Yes but the filter is still filled with oil, it take a few seconds for the oil to start flowing but if he changes the filter and does not pre-lube it again it take 10 or so seconds for the oil to start flowing even if he fills it with oil before he installs it. I would break it in and after a half an hour change it. Can't believe it won't last that long.

my69

:yesnod: Thanks dodge freak for understanding my engine builders logic :stirthepot: He doesn't want the cam lobes to run dry sorta speak :-\

Beings my "feul tank"andfuel line is also new he wants to do about the samething  there. Flush my feul line out and then hook it up to the pump (which is the carter 6903) he sugessted to get that pump as well ::)

talking about this with you guys feels pretty good to me :icon_smile_cool:

firefighter3931

Nice work, that oilpan looks right at home on your engine  ;)  The fram filter is OK for the initial fireup and cam break in, so as soon as that's done....drain the oil and install fresh lube with a new Wix or Napa Gold filter and you'll be fine.

Speaking of fuel see if you can get some leaded racing gas and run that fuel for the break in. The lead will help the valves and the extra octane will stop any pinging if the timing is off or its too lean cause of a vacuum leak. This is what I like to do.

my69

Yeah that's pretty much what he said too  :yesnod: he also said when I do, You'll probably never go back to pump fuel again :o
I guess it's alittle spendy huh?  But then again we wasn't to far from that a couple months agao :o

dodge freak

I am so old now I remember when the 109 blue turbo gas they call it here was $2.99 a gallon and I thought that was so high. :eyes: Afterwards you don't have to run it straight , just mix a gallon or 2 to a tank of gas.
