I just picked up a 69 that I am currently tearing down to do a complete resto on. I was wondering why the door panels don't have any map pockets like I have seen on just about every other Charger I have come across? It is a 383 2bl car that came with a vinyl top buckets and console.

Can anyone enlighten me?

I don't recognise it but that lower door panel don't look right, the wood grain strip i haven't seen on any 2nd gen. myself, i supect it's off a coronet or plymouth.

 :iagree:
I don't think that is a Charger lower panel.

Quick, put it on e-bay and say it was the DOH option and then retire! :icon_smile_wink:

Lookin through the Year
One and Legendary catologs I don't see that panel either. It looks a little like a Coronet panel but not exact and I definitely don't see the wood trim and reflector anywhere....

they sell universal door panels on ebay, they dont have any pockets etc, just basic black panels for $100 a pair. Looks like yours isnt correct.

thanks for the welcome boyz!!!!! I am sure I will be hangin out here alot while I under take this project. I found this one down in Georgia and had the previous owner trailer it up to the Mopar Nats (for a fee of course) where I met him and transferred it over to my trailer. Those of you who attended the Nats may recall the horrific storm Saturday night. Lighting, thunder, down pour........of course this all occurred while we trying to transfer the Charger from one trailer to the other. Which was'nt easy since there is no motor. I wish I would have taken a few photos. It was quite a site at 10:00pm at night in a closed down gas station parking lot. Oh well, made it home in one piece.....errrr......at least as many pieces as we started with !!!!!...........One thing for sure. The new Rams pull like "jack the bear" I had the original motor and tranny along with a '72 440 and tranny in my bed while towing the charger on a U-haul trailer and it pulled beautifully! I was passing Chevys that were having a hard time with a bike rack full of bikes while I motored past @ 75 mph with plenty of pedal left.

Thanks. 6T9 I will not forget to register it. I actually went to do it earlier but I didn't have the fender tag info so i didn't go throught with it.

The beauty of this car is it is not completly rotted like most every other Charger I have looked at up here in the north. I am in Torornto Canada so I thnik that says it all in the condition of most project cars that can be found around here. Frame is solid as is most all the sheet metal. Typical problems with the trunk pan and drivers side pan full of holes and in need of replacement. The roof has me a little concerned. Someone pulled the vinyl off and it seems it was retaining quite a buit of moisture becase the roof is pretty rusty. I am hoping it won't be too bad but someone primed it so i will have to take a serious look at it.

Here are some more pics from the previous owner. I will post some once I start tearing it apart.
