Posting personal picture

I was able to post a picture to a topic I posted, however I'm unable to post a picture of my car to my personal profile.   I click on uploading my own picture, call it up in Browse, but I can't get it to load into the small picture on my profile page.  Suggestions?

I can't see what you were trying to upload but most often it's a problem with the size of the picture. If the picture is wider than 200 pixels or taller than 400 pixels then the forum rejects it. I am going to try to add some software to automatically resize pictures that are too big but I use it at work and it can be very difficult to get right.

Yes, the picture was bigger than that.   I'll shrink the size and try it again.   Thanks!

How do you shrink it down?  crop it?  Is there a way to shrink the file itself?
