At $700.00 I would have to say something is cracked.. Sounds too cheap, even if it's a 354"...

well...I'm not really "looking"...my 383  runs great.   I just didn't know if I would gain or lose...and...if it would bolt in to my '69     texasacres.com    is where it is located.   I inquired about it, and they told me it was a good rebuildable unit,  and the one pictured still runs.   They have 2 or 3 of these engines....

They go over great in old hot rods.  There is a guy here with one in a 50 something truck. Maybe it's a 40's. I'm not up on the old trucks at all..... :shruggy:

They are OK engines, but for $700 I would loke into it a bit more. That is realy cheap. Those engines along with the 392 hemi where used a lot in the onld front engine dragsters. Along with chevy's, ford, olds, buick, and any other engine at the time, but they where one of the most comon. with todays nostalgia drag racing parts have become more available. You can get trans adapter kits for them to bolt up to your 727/833, and a few people have put 354's/392's in their 60's/70's mopars. I can not compair a "stock" early hemi to your 383, because I have only worked on the blown T/F race versions, but they are fun, you get a Hemi, and you have 99.99999% odds that you are the only one in your town, city or state with one in your year Charger. If I had $700 laying around, I would get it, if to just resale it for a few more bucks on e-gouge. (look up how much they are going for first). If I hade even more money (to make it work), and car needing an engine I would consider doing it. just my two cents.

It could be fitted into the Charger , ummm not easily no mounts or headers & you will need a trans adapter & it is wider then the 426 to boot
not worht the trouble IMO
