My books don't go any newer than 1971.  Can someone give me the specifications for a stock 440 from a 1974 Dodge Monaco?  I'm assuming that this was a low compression unleaded fuel engine?  I would be interested in HP and torque ratings, cam size and whatever else makes it different from '69 or '70 440.

Also, any build up tips you guys got, be sure to pass them along.  I'm looking for the modest 400 to 420 HP range on 93 octane and a rebuild is shedualed.  Thanks!

I believe the entire rotating assembly, cam & heads are different.  I'm not sure on the crank, but that might be forged if you got the right motor.  Not sure on that one though.  Here is a link to some HP & Torque Specs.  We used to have a "proven combo" section on this site but it didn't return when the new site was put up.  Not sure if that is in the works.

Thanks for the link!  I'll book mark that one.

LOL!!!  My '68 318 had the same HP rating and only 10 ft pounds less torque!   :smilielol:

???     Why?  Was it built then?  couldn't have been stock, was it?

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.

No, I'm serious!  It was STOCK!  Check the link above, I'm going by its numbers.
