Ok, I tried the search feature and came up with nothing that answered my question.  I am trying to get the correct field winding color for my alternator.  I have seen colors from semi flat black, burgundy redish color, and a goldish color.  Which one is correct?  I am thinking it should be the redish color moreso than the goldish color.  I think the semi flat black color is when the rebuilders do it and just use some cheap univeral black color to prevent it from rusting.

Thanks in advance,

Brian

I've seen the colors you mention and also green and varnished natural steel color.

I have no idea what is "correct", I suspect the colors changed with the vendor who made the field core.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
