Ok I am still looking for a litle more out of my car and I think the engine is probably allright, but what suggestion do you guys have.
Rebuilt 383 60 over with edelbrock single plane intake holley 770 street avenger, 230/236 duration cam, headers, forged trw flat top pistons, windage tray,  and 3in drop base air cleaner.  The dual exhaust is straight back (no x or h pipe), the rearend is a 3.23 suregrip, and the transmission does have a shift kit.  I dont have the money right now for a procharger, or the gear vendors overdrive, but I was thinking the rearend may need beefed up to 3.73 or 3.91 gears.  Other than that I dont know how much good roller rockers, or other engine parts would do?  The car runs great with this setup, it just doesn't seem like it has as much power as it should.  I had also thought of going with smaller rear tires which are currently 275/60/15's  I know this wouldn't help a huge amount but the tires are getting old anyway.  Any suggestions?

a looser converter would make a big difference depending what stall you have now , 3.55 or 3.7 1gears will help the car feel a lot lighter too , the short stroke 383 never made a lot of torque

:iagree: It needs more stall and more gear. That cam won't really come alive until 2500-2800 rpm. A set of 3.91's and a 3000 stall would be my choice.  :yesnod:

An H or X pipe would be a cost effective upgrade too.

Sorry forgot to say my stall converter is a 2800 I cant remember if its a 10" or 11" but I do know the flexplate had to be changed from the stock two barrel size to a different size.  So, probably gear ratio is key huh?
