How do you count radiator rows

I have never understood this till now, at least I think.

Rows are counted front to back?
Not left to right?

From the perspective of looking from front of car.

BTW can one get away with a 2 row on a street 440.

front to back,or back to front. does it have air? i got mine re cored to a 3 just in case. i dont have air.      440

Yep, front to back....3 row is better than two, for sure. Some cars might be able to get by with just two if you have the 26in wide radiator...if it's the smaller 22in rad, you'll need 3 rows, inmo.
