Hello,
I,m palnning to install one of these over my cracked dash:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160009784704&sspagename=ADME:B:AAQ:US:1

Has someone installed one of these?
Does it need to be glued over the original dash?
Is necessary to remove the dash to install it?

Thanks a lot for the help :icon_smile_wink:

I used one on my '69. No need to remove anything. You just shave down the high spots, clean the surface so all oils or dye are removed. Dye up the new cap and silicone it in place. They give good instructions with the cap. Follow them and you will be fine.

Thanks Jim,
Did you get the one you have from AZBob ?

If I had a choice between a perfect crack free original pad and a cap, ofcourse I would take the original pad. The thing i don't like about the cap is it is hard. It feels like the A pillar trim plastic clear across the dash. But the bonus is it is easy to install and wont end up looking like repops that get real wavy.

:iagree: The repop dash pad I bought was a piece of floppy junk and I took it back out in disgust. Maybe they have improved in the last 2 years. IMO a cap looks to be a better alternative to the repop I bought unless you can find a nice OEM pad.(which is what I did)

It's better than nothing I guess. I put mine on a year ago. But just recently I have been parking the car in the sun for a couple of months and guess what, I noticed a crack has started in the center of the cap. :flame:
