I'VE JUST FOUND THIS FORUM, AND THANKS FOR IT.
I'M LOOKING FOR THE BUMPER FILLERS FOR MY '72 CHARGER, AND CAN'T FIND THEM.
WHAT, WHERE, OR HOW CAN I GET SOME??

ScottW

First off welcome to the site.

72 Chargers did not come with bumper fillers - Are you thinking about something else?

Bumper fillers are found on 73-74 models. Does your 72 have 73-74 bumpers? Show us a pic!  :yesnod:

it's a 1972 rallye se.
everything about this car confusses me??
rallye doors, hide-a-aways (head lights), se side windows, rallye dash and inside, bench seat, column shift, 400 2bb, 2.91 gears, AC, tinted windows, the list goes on.  I'll put some pics. of the bumpers.

This is the charger.

From the first pic I would say you have a 72 SE that someone added the rallye doors to. It also appears that the rear bumper is correct for the car but looks mis-aligned, maybe has 73/74 brackets. The tail lights look to be painted and missing the chrome bezels unless they are the standard 72 tail lights.

The hidden headlights and rallye dash were standard on SE models, the other options sound like normal SE options too.

All in all looks like a good solid foundation for a nice car.

if you have an e-mail i'll send you some detailed pic from the inside, they are very odd.  I bought the car from the second owner.  But as far as you know, bumper fillers where not used on ANY 72's ?

NHCharger

I have two 72's, one with 72k original miles (a parts car because of extensive rust), neither one has the bumper fillers. I believe they were needed starting in 73 because of the required 5 MPH crash ratings.

Bumper fillers started in 73. Anything is possible in Mopar world but I have never seen bumper fillers on a 72.

Bumper fillers just since 73... Bumpers itself are heavier than earliers. 73/74 Rear bumpers have down a notch to hook the bumper jack, different than 72 with slots to the jack nail and 71 where bumper jacks were as far I know C clamp kind.

71/72 front bumpers have a recesed area to Charger arrow in the middle, 73/74 are flat.

brackets are different too... enlarged on 73/74 to fillers, same as front ones
