I'm in a ongoing battle over who is the better 80's hair band, Poison or Def Leppard.  My Rustang buddy thinks Poison is the best 80's hair band ever.  I tell him Def Leppard is far superior.  So in my drunken posting mood tonight, with my friend Knob Creek at my side, i though i'd ask all my Charger friends out there...  (remember this guy is a Rustang guy :icon_smile_blackeye:)

Considering Def Leppard is my favorite band, I'm gonna go with them.  Been around longer, more hit albums, better actual music.  DL is not a heavy metal band though, they consider themselves more pop.

Now if you'd have asked bout Crue, it'd be a tougher choice, but Poison was never that good of a band, IMO.

Of the two Def Leppard is my pick, though Poison was definitely "harder."
Sixty-eights look great and the '69 is fine.
But before the General Lee there was me - Headrope.

Wakko, i saw Crue a couple weeks ago at www.rock-fest.com and they sucked.  Vince let the audience sing most of the lyrics to the songs and thank god... he sucked!
but ya, back in the day, the Crue was the shiznit.

Thats odd to hear. They were here a year ago and put on the best concert I have ever seen over the years. The band was right on the money with both music and vocals.  The crowd was going ape shit and the energy level of the entire thing was intense.

I never thought Def L. was a hair band?! Poisen was by far the best glam or hair band.    As for Crue since we are on the topic  they kinda changed their look from each album. Theater of Pain was hair band all the way while too fast and shout were more punk oriented.  GGG and Dr F were more the jeans and t shirt metal look.

between those two, I'd say Poison.

And yes...Def Leppard was a hair band.

Def Leppard-all the way.

Motley Crue was great too-Face it we are all getting old, they may still be great but they were awesome. Check out their Greatest video Hit$ dvd the uncut one, it has some of their best videos like Girls, Girls Girls where they go to a strip bar, those were the days of awesome videos.

Pour some sugar on me.

Motley Crue > Def Leppard, though.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Don't kid yourself  -  Crue was a hair band too.  Always.

I think your buddy just likes guys who look like women.

Def Leppard is the better (and more manly) of the two.

I never really cared too much for either....I was more of a W.A.S.P. fan   They were a bit heavier

Def Leppard,

I have always wanted more from my music than the "same old, same old"

The message of party, party, party and get high and piss off your parents was wore out with Kiss. The Crue and Poison are just cheap imitations trying to cash in.

By the way, my Mom cried when she saw my first Kiss album, said that the communist had finally taken over!

And truth be known, Rush over all. No commercialism, no piss off your parents, and better still no cheesey eye candy theatrics to draw you attenton away from no talent.

I'd take that a lot more seriously if the pic wasn't of a guy named "Marion."

Seriously tho, Cinderella was actually not a bad band.

I don't really want to listen to either of them anymore but back in the 80's Pyromania was a big deal when it hit...  far superior to anything Poison ever put out.    I do still have some Def Leppard CD's around but I can't recall ever buying anything from Poison.
