alt spacer measurement

Hi, I had missed since allways the alt bolt rear spacer and I had replaced with Lug nuts. Finally I found one NOS here but is not the right one, is longer. so I want to know how long is the rear spacer between head bracket and rear alt "ear" I really wan to get original mesurement, since I have damaged some alte bearings, bolts and in fact the bracket threated hole itself.

Today both belts broken and I think that would help a lot to get the right belt alignment

Is this the spacer your talking about?
If so the spacer is 5/8". Not sure on the metric conversion, 1.6mm?

eeeehm... not. I'm talking about the upper bolt spacer... the one that pivots and hanger the alt.

It does use two spacers... one between alt "ears" ( with upper bracket on the way ), and another one between rear alt "ear" and head bracket. I need last one.

this engine has missed the intermediate spacer but it looks to have the rear one. If not, anyway is the best close up pic I have to show where goes the spacer I mean.

OK, try this measurement. The space between the head and the alt. bracket is 7/8". The spacer is actually 13/16" because there is a sleeve through the hole on the alt. bracket that holds the spacer off the alt. bracket by 1/16".

do you mean between the head BRACKET and the alt "EAR" ? of course, I have to thought on the sleeve on the alt hole.

Sorry, maybe the confusion is because I'm calling EAR what you calls BACK ALT BRACKET

But the sleeve gets displacement once you get tight the upper bolt... but I thing is toward to front to get adjust with the center spacer.

ok, I found this pic and noticed the alt sleeve aparently moves to front when you tight.



So we have the rear spacer measure is 7/8"... or 13/16" ?
