:icon_smile_angry:
Why can't I find a stock oil pick up for this thing?

I have a nearly complete rebuilt 440 - .030 over, 10.5:1 with all the goodies - street car. Do I really need a 7qt oil pan? Is there an advantage?   It looks huge for my 74' - will it fit?  Are there different configurations depending on the body style?  Help!

Thanks to all

Mancini has a reproduction 6quart hemi pan with a pickup for $160.00  :icon_smile_cool: If you order this kit make sure to specify the 3/8in pickup.  ;)

Ron - Thanks for the quick response.  Do you run with a(or this Mancicni) higher capacity pan?  Is there an advantage other than more oil means more wear protection or.......?

Thanks again

Dan, with the hemi pan capacity is 7 quarts (6+1 for the filter) so there is more protection for the engine which is important for a performance build. The hemi pan also has front & rear baffles which help with oil control during hard acceleration/braking. The baffles keep the oil pickup covered and the oil pump sucking oil instead of air.
