Rucking Fidiculous!  :flame: When will the government step in and do something? I love all the excuses...Refineries offline....strikes at processing plants....too much demand....not enough demand...Jesus, Mary, and St. Joseph, make up yer fekking minds already!!

When I bought my '98 Neon R/T new, my first fill-up was $12.00!!! I feel for you Cummins brothers and sisters out there...here in NE Ohio, diesel is running around $4.42/gal. You know, diesel....a sludged byproduct of gasoline...how the hell is it not cheaper? My wife wanted an '08 CRD Liberty (common rail diesel)....don't think so, babe! Not now...

re visiting the thread i see i forgot to post the local gas price web site... sorry...  :shruggy:
  http://www.sanfrangasprices.com/

BTW: gas went up three cents since i filled up thursday so it's $3.90.3/4 pre Gal.at m y "cheap" station today when i drove by...

i wonder what moves if any we are making to cut fuel consumption...
i'm driving a bit less, smoother, combining trips and driving at 70 MPH instead of my normal 82 on the HWY.

myk

A more moderate driving style helps cut down fuel consumption, but no one in San Diego seems to care.  Everyone's still driving like it's the goddamn autobahn out here, blowing by me and whatever car I happen to be driving even at 70mph.  Even the Prius drivers are blasting down the freeways.  You know what I say?  F everybody-keep raising the prices...

And that is exactly why the prices (and consumption) will still keep going up. Prices aren't high enough yet to cause people enough pain to change their habits. When people start to show a bit of personal responsibility instead of expecting someone else (like the government) to do something then we'll see a change - but that's probably asking too much. :eyes:

Around here Regular is $3.47-3.79, Premium is 3.72-3.99, and Diesel is $3.99-4.29. Certain areas of town are known for jacking up the prices and I live near some of the cheapest stations. When you're looking at a 30 cent markup it's worth driving a few extra miles to get to another station. I can't imagine paying more for Regular than Premium (but some people do I guess).

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Got gas?

I know I do!

Local sams club gas station apparently fucked up when they put the price in this morning.  When I went there the sign read 3.83 for regular and 3.93 for premium, the pump however read 3.83 for regular and 3.03 for premium!!
:2thumbs:
Too bad they had corrected it by the time I got another car over there lol

I think their just reloading and we will get a big dose about Memorial Day. The rumor I heard was 4 bucks then and they will dupe us again around Labor Day for 5 bucks  :shruggy:. Then we can say remember how cheap gas was in May  :pullinghair:y

It changed my habits...

I've been taking the bus to and from work for more then a year now.

Not a hard choice...

$45.00/mo for a monthly bus pass which gets me to and from work which I'm reimbused 30 dollars from my employer on that so I only pay $15.00/mo

or

Over $100 to drive my truck back and forth for the month.

Actually everything I am reading lately is saying that Americans are already cutting back but that it doesn't matter at this point because of the rapidly growing demand in China and India.  We are screwed at this point unless we can cut our dependency on foreign oil which doesn't seem likely at all.  We buy oil on the world market and that price is out of our control.  Get used to the prices because I think we are here to stay.

BigRed66

A few things:

1) When oil prices dropped by around $10/bbl last week, wasn't it funny how gas stayed at the same prices?

2) Doesn't it piss you off all these assholes who continue to "predict" the unstoppable upswing in oil prices? In the most recent case, a Goldman Sachs person says $150-200/bbl in the next couple years is imminent. (story here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12400801/) Does this mean one of these douchebags could also say that there's no way oil can get any higher, and should drop back to 1998 prices in a year or so? And it would come to fruition?

3) In case you missed it, Chrysler (my employer) has a new incentive where when you buy a new vehicle between now and June 2nd, you get a gas card with 3 years of a locked-in price of $2.99/gal. (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24481436/) Anyone who's in the market for a new vehicle, email me or send me a msg via this board, and I can get you a control number to save you up to 11% off of MSRP. I only have a few numbers left to give out, but will gladly do so. Job security's a good thing.

Peace.
