Im working on rebuilding my steering coupler on my 74 charger, and the pin which the shoes sit on will not come out. is there a trick? the kit includes a new pin.

Anybody do this before?

Thanks
Russ

I just done this this past weekend.  We put the shaft into a vice to hold it and gave the pin a whack with the hammer and it will come out.

Get a bigger hammer.
Hit it good on one site and then turn the wheel so you can hit the other side.
Once its been knocked a few time it will come out.

I replaced my coupler with a u-joint.
