72 Charger with 318. Had the front end rebuilt 12k miles ago. Sometimes when I turn left or back up and cut my wheels I have a snapping noise come from under the car, driver's side front. I don't feel  any vibration through the steering wheel when this happens. Sometimes it's louder than others.
I intend to get it up on jack stands Monday night and take a peek. Any suggestions on what to look for?

I had that noise before......make sure that your strut rods are tightened up at the LCA's...........That's what mine turned out to be......tore the whole front end apart before identifying it.     Just in case...LCA=lower control arm

just wondering... what kind of front brakes do you have ?... noise get quiet when you press brakes ?

I have the stock drums on the front.   When I had that issue,  it had nothing to do with my brakes.   It would make noise when I accelerate, either hard or soft,  and it would make it when i applied the brakes...i.e.  transferring the force back to the front  and making that snapping noise,  then  it would snap again accelerating....and so on.......my strut rods were loose where they connected at the lower control arm.   When I had it aligned, the tech forgot to tighten one of the nuts.

I have had weird noises on my car, checked several times and didn't find nothing bad and guess what ? was ONE CALIPER BOLT BROKEN... trust me, it looks like some loosen on suspension.

If you have the floating caliper kind, check for that
