Who has everyone use as far as correct fitting carpeting for your charger?

Well, after much contemplation, I decided not to cut corners on my carpeting.  The area around where the dimmer switch (hi-low beam switch) is butchered up pretty badly from the previous owner and can be seen easily when the floor mats are removed or pulled up at shows.  Can anyone recommend a vendor that has exact fitting (concours style) carpeting?  Is there anyone I should stay away from?  I know some vendors like Dante can offer a cheaper price compared to Legendary prices direct.

Thanks in advance.

Auto Custom Carpets.  I could be wrong but I was under the impression that they were the ones making them for everybody else.

I believe ACC has an ad in some of the car mags, they have a code for %20 off your first retail purchase.  I can't find one right now, if I find one I will post it.  matt

I  just did a google search for auto custom carpets.  They want $197 for the front and rear carpet set.  I know for a fact that I can get it cheaper than that through either Legendary or other places like Dante's.

That wouldn't surprise me Brian.  Even if ACC do make the carpet sets for the other places (and I'm not sure that they do), those kinds of places often have an arrangement with their distributors that they won't sell the product cheaper than the distributor.

Most places sell ACC, but there is another brand out there too that sells for around $100. It is a nice carpet, but the ACC is much heavier duty. Infact I would say the ACC weighs an easy 10 pounds more.

I bought mine through Dante's, it was an ACC carpet and cost somewhere in the $100-120 ballpark, I believe.  As far as the distributor agreements go, I don't think ACC is as heavy handed as, say, TTI and some other companies - It seems like you can get a better deal through the distributors than buying direct.  I had read a few threads that had me worried about the fit of the carpet, but in the end everything worked out ok with mine.  It's an auto non-console carpet for a 68, and I had enough material to run up the firewall, enough to overlap under the seats and enough material to run up the sides and under the sill plates.  They had glued the under-padding in such a way that it created a few unnecessary wrinkles, so I had to pull it off and re-glue it, but aside from that headache the carpet ended up fitting better than I expected.  In fact, it fit well enough that I only have to trim a little bit off the front half by the drivers side sill plate, otherwise everything fit like it was supposed to be there.

Mine was ACC, too - got it off ebay for just over $100.

It fits pretty good, but the molding of the rear segment is weak, and it causes a small 'fold' over the rear hump, just underneath the center of the rear seat.  I worked it forever trying to get it to settle and finally just decided to live with it...

All the carpets i've seen in four B-bodys the carpet is just short at the rear door cut, even the '71 runner i just got...
on my '69 it's noticable...
anyhow im gonna do that car with a new carpet, and expect to see that problem again..  :-\

I dunno...but Year One seems to have a good product  in my opinion.....you have to trim the edges a bit, but that's just common practice I guess

Trimming edges is better than running for a carpet stretcher I suppose. ;)
