I don't like "manufactured" music, which is to say, I like to listen to musical genres in their purest forms before they get watered down for a mainstream audience.

Me too. For example, I like Kelly Clarkson's early stuff, not her newer commercial stuff.  :icon_smile_big:

A little off topic, but I wonder what Kelly looks like "down there."  Shaved, Brazilian?  '70s porn star???

Really?  I'm going with '70s porn star.  She looks like the type of chick who doesn't give too much of a damn..  Nothing wrong with that though...I'm getting kinda sick of the whole shaved/Brazilian thing.

Godsmack and Korn is complicated music? The Nu-Metal stuff is okay, but they took the edge of the old school metal and took away the real talent. Anyone that can detune down to D can play the stuff. The complexity died in the early 90's with the exception of a few bands that kept it going. Though I must say Children of Bodom has some decent guitar players there.

I don't care if music is 'commercial' or not. In my opinion, the first time an artist takes payment to fund the creation of music, they have effectively sold out. So the playing field is pretty level.

Check out Leibach sometime.  Industrial covers of pop songs.  They did one entire album that was their version of "Jesus Christ Superstar."

Nice.  :icon_smile_cool:  Ever hear of Luther Wright and the Wrongs?  He's a bluegrass artist and covered Pink Floyd's "The Wall" in it's entirety.

I listen to everything. Not a huge new country fan, but that's about it in terms of dislikes.  Mainly rock-oriented though.

Well I must say pretty much everthing from the 80's except that punk rock junk, :icon_smile_sad:
That pretty much sums up with the rap :icon_smile_dead:  Don't care much for it :rotz:
Like the older country stuff , the ones a person can actually "dance" to like 2-step,waltz and the"western weave" My personal favorite :D   TODAYS modern country as it is referred to IS NOT COUNTRY. PERIOD!!!

Oh can't forget the 80's hair bands

SeattleCharger

Rock and roll, classic, heavy metal eighties, grunge/nineties, new harder rock.   rarely some old rap is ok, NWA era,   rarely country, but country has the best videos by far, sometimes the top 40 station, I know, I know, oh well.    But really,  Rock and roll  most all the time,    :musik010:

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.

Arthu®

Well I can see something in almost all the styles of music, but I rarely like their extreme versions this means I like hard rock/metal but heavy metal is too much and I like dance but hardcore is too much. Jump is pretty fun to listen too and fun to watch people "dance" on. I can't recommend going to a hardstyle jump festival though. It made me want to kill myself. I bet the average IQ was under 80. Really you could even go to saying that the world might be better off if something would happen at a festival like that. But on a side note I was sober as I was driving didn't mind as I don't really like the music either but the "gf" wanted to see it and 75% of the crowd was on drugs and alcohol. Though they say alcohol lowers the experience of the X. Don't know myself don't wanna try I see the world pretty f***ed up as it is no need for illusions or trips... Other than those styles I like anything from Chopin to Eminem.

what's jump?..

Don't nobody go to raves?..

That's jump, incredibly moronic to watch which is the fun part, to do it yourself if it wasn't for the godawfull music (if you can call it that) it is pretty fun to do if you have had a couple of beers or something stronger.

I listen to most anything. I've got Irish folk tunes, J-Pop, Blues, Slow blues, Slower Blues, real Country (not the pop that wears a hat and fakes an accent), Gospel, Rock, Heavy Metal, Folk, Classical, Opera, Rap, R&B, Scottish anthems, and Steven Seagal. All on one CDR. You can at any time hear The Corrs, Johnny Cash, Third Day, Casting Crowns, Todd Agnew, Jenniffer Knapp, Don McLean, Takashi Sorimachi, John Cena, Richie Sambora, and Luciano Pavarotti among many more from my speakers. There are some, such as Rap or death metal, that I don't like quite that well, and thus don't listen to very often. And of course, the soothing music of an American-made V8 at WOT is of ourse a favorite, only behind the Blues.
