1966 383 engine in the local paper, what to look for? #s?

Hi everyone, I recently saw an ad in my local paper for a '66 383 from a charger supposedly, a rebuilt long block.......$800 and comes with a used 727 trans.  He has no paperwork for the rebuild, but told me the details....   I am still considering looking at it regardless.  Does anyone have any casting # lists for the heads/block to check to make sure its a 383 and from what year?  I checked out one site, and for the block, it said:


2468130      Chrysler - Dodge - Plymouth        B     59-71 383

Heads:
2406516     64-67 361/383

Can anyone verify these casting #s?  I pulled them from this site above.  Thx.

Those look like the right casting numbers. Casting dates should be appropriate for a 66 model car (Mid 65-Mid 66 depending on SPD)

It should also have B383 stamped on the front pad.

For $800 I would look at the body and frame more, if it is soild you can change the engine if needed. But it might have a broken rusted out frame. Unless you wanted just the drivetrain.

I'm just getting the engine/transmission to clarify, gonna offer $700 for the 383 and 727 trans.....no car here lol, wasn't clear enough in the topic.....
