I recently picked up another 72 parts car on ebay for the whopping sum of $400. The seller was located in Tenn. and delivered the car 35 miles
to my Mom and Stepfathers for an extra $50. I went up there this week and spent most of thursday getting it stripped down. I`ll head back in two weeks to cut the rest of it up and bring it home. Its a basic 72 SE 318 bench column car. The car was already missing some parts such as the hideaway headlights and front bumper, door mirrors, engine/trans, drivers door glass, and gas tank. Between the mid 90`s weather, humidity, and dealing with quite a few active wasp nests on/in the car, dismantling went a lot slower than i had hoped for.  Some of the goodies remaining were a very nice and uncut 150 mph rallye cluster, dash wiring harness, good doors, 1 very good fender, 1 usable fender,
am/fm radio stereo unit with cassette pig tail, front sway bar, rear defroster,  pass rear floor pan is mint (I needed that) drivers 1/4 and trunk extension are very
good, pass side 1/4 is fair-trunk extension rusty, roof is good (being saved for a friends 72 Rallye) cowl, firewall and front inner fenders are nice too. All in all not bad for $400. Here is some pics

interior was pretty nasty. most of it ended up in the local landfill, along with the hood, rear bumper, and heat/ac box.

Tried to convince my stepdad that the barn would be better used storing 71-74 Chargers and parts................ Didn`t work.

For $400., You did real good :yesnod:
I was hoping that passenger side trunk extension would be in good enough shape to put in your car.  :yesnod:

Well, if it makes you feel any better.... Your trunk looks good compared to the one in the parts car OR  the one Stormhammers old car.
Oh well, sooner or later somebody will repro the trunk.....I hope.

The 1/4 window exterior trim is pitted. The drip rails are in good shape (and came off real easy). I didn`t pay much attention to the 1/4 window plugs. The int sail panels are fair.

I appreciate the comment but its really not true. There are plenty of folks on this site with more 3rd Gen knowledge than myself. I only consider myself to be  an enthusiast who has a weakness for cheap parts cars and junkyards.

In what shape is the tail panel in ? No rust on the top lip corners ?

I didn`t pay particular attention to the tail panel, other than to note that it didn`t have any collision damage. Chances are good that I am going to end up using it on a car I am currently working on. It has significant previously repaired  pass side 1/4 damage that extends into the tail panel. The repairs were very shoddy and will have to be re-worked.

BTW.... this post should not in any way be construed as a for sale ad.  I am simply sharing my adventures in parts hunting.  :2thumbs:

Terry, the hood was junk and is now resting in the county landfill.  By the way, your "roller" wheels/tires are ready. I put the new wheels and tires on the Mock turtle this evening. The blue on the tires even matches the hood. ;D Also, if you want the belt moldings off the doors that i just brought home, you can have them too. They are pretty decent.
