I need to know how to tell the difference between a truck Dana 60 and a car Dana 60
1968 Dodge Charger - 6.1L Hemi / 6-speed / 3.55 Sure Grip

I assume you mean besides the 8 bolt hubs on the truck Dana's. I believe they don't have the pinion snubber IIRC. I think there is a post on this...I am looking for it now.

thanks...     because a guy i know has a Dana 60 under his camaro and wants to offload it - but wants to know if its from a car or a truck

Well a lot of truck danas get cut down like the one in my 70, I have a 4 link so no need for me to have a snubber.  I guess you need to check the axle tubes, and the lug pattern of course you could cut it to what you wanted anyway.

once cut down the pinion snubber pad is basically the only difference
a Camaro would never need a Dana ... not enough power
