I had the Charger out today and if you haven't seen the other post my shift lever (colomn auto) has had play in it and I could not be in park and reach 1 on the same adjustment.  Well today after picking up stuff at town the car would not go into any gear, RD21. I had my buddy/mechanic help and he said the lnkages are moving but the valve body was not.  This is a rebuilt v/b that was customized for better shift/performance only 5 moths ago. My question is does this seem possible, is it the culpret? I am ready to order one from Mancinni if this is the problem John

Did your buddy have the pan off when he determined that the valve body wasn't moving? Or did he mean the external lever wasn't moving?
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Is it possible the linkage loosened up on the valvebody stalk?

the shifter linkage is not a perfect circle, there is an area that is flat (straight line) on the inside diameter of the lever that connects to the selector shaft that also has that flat straight line part so that the two can mate up and provide a tight fit to cure the possibility of what you just asked Chris.

The only way in which it could be doing what you asked, in my opinion, is that the lever is so loose so that the lever turns and the selector shaft does not.  This can be caused by the lever itself being bent out of shape and/or the tightening bolt is so loose or nonexistent and/or the selector level is not actually mounted on the lowest part of the selector shaft and is instead riding up high near the kickdown lever.

It was the valve body. We replaced it tonight. The selector shaft was not moving the rooster comb .

A fairly common problem, the shift shaft is splined and swaged on the roostercomb, the splines often strip out allowing the shaft to turn in the roostercomb.
