Hi guys!

On the 360 block (-75), can the camshaft be taken out on the frontside of the engine?
Or does it only come out the back?

And wich cam would you recomend to get more power out of this engine?

Appreciate any help! :)

Plumcrazy

The cam comes out of the engine through the front of the block.

To recommend a cam I would need more info about the other engine parts and what you want to do with it.

Thanks, Plumcrazy! :)

My plans include a Edelbrock performer intake, a holley 750 double-pumper, a scoop and headers.
And a prepped trans.

Im pretty new to this, but as far i can understand the rpm-range is f the essence.
Im planing to use this car on 1/8-mile dragrace. So i need quick response. I was also planning not to use a stall-converter. (at least not at this time)
Therefore i guess an range between 1500 and 5500 would be "correct" ?

One of the key questions is what is your compression ratio.  Also, what rear gear are you planning to run?  We all asume you're putting this in a Charger, right?

Very briefly, every component not only in the engine but also the torque converter, transmission and rear gears must all be considered as a coordinated drivetrain.

I would stick with a vacuum secondary carb in the 600 cfm range on that manifold. Especially in a heavier car.
For a camshaft I would look for something in the 230* @.050 range.

You really need a higher stall converter than a stock unit and the proper gearing, especially at a short 1/8th mile track. You have no time to waste, the car must hookup and pull hard from the start or you will lose.

I know that for a fact.  :icon_smile_sad:

if the engine is stock compression a decent cam would be a Engle K56 , it will make power in the range you need & help build compression

Reidar

Thanks for your help guys!

But Chryco? Where can i find more info on that cam?
Tried to find it on summit and googled it, but no luck..
