3rd Gen guys, check this out. what would you pay for this car.

a car i bid on. was high bidder but reserve not met. i thought for sure my max bid of $2700 would hit the reserve. It did not. talked to the guy today, he wants $4500.

i figured that the car was worth 1800-2200. was willing to go a little higher because the body is so straight/solid and the car is located so close to me (40 miles). i was kinda blown away when he said $4500.

Wow!   You guys should see how the market is here!   Maybe the e-bay seller should post for Alaskan buyers -- LOL!     

Mopars are getting really scarce up here.   I've had $20,000 and $25,000 offers on my Charger, however, mine is simply not for sale for any amount of money.   Hubby went a little ape-shit after he heard I got those offers, tho.   He claims he can get 2 Chargers for that amount of money, but I fail to see how we could do so without having to haul one up the Alcan and that is a pretty penny in itself.   Besides, I've gotten used to those wonderful quirks my own Charger has -- so used to it that if I break down, I can get it going again.  

I love my Charger!!!

You dont have to worry about that. There is absolutely no chance that i would pay $4500 for the car. i felt like my $2700  bid was more than generous and it was definitey the max i would go.         The "no title" thing really isnt an issue. Here in GA, they arent required after 15? years. However, a buyer may find out that the ad-valorem taxes on a vehicle havent been paid for __ years and may be required to pay the back taxes prior to tagging/registering it. i didnt renew the tag on my 72 for a couple of years and they hit me for 3 years worth when i did tag it again.
I was just curious as to what some of the other 3rd Gen owners thought the car was worth.

I agree with the others,  your offer was more then fair  He may get what he wants for it depending on what day the relist  auction ends, I have noticed that prices for all the 3rd Gen Chargers I have been watching as well as the parts seem to go for differnet prices depending on time of week and time of day the auction ends.

back in the early '70's Dodge dealerships across canada had something they called the "Junior" option Chargers. Simply put they were SE cars without the SE badges and with only 6cyl engines. They were made so parents could buy their children fast looking cars without all the horsepower.

I just sold a 73 that was in worst shape last week for $4500, and I am the one that was smokin!   LOL
but it was in canadian dollars so it works out to be about $200 bucks american LOL
you see that front drivers seat, man I have seen way nicer 3rd gen. chargers on this site sell for half that price.

Personally, 2K would be my max. Too much work needed for a pretty plain car. You were being generous at 2700, and he's just plain nuts at 4500. Maybe he'll figure that out, or maybe he'll find someone more doped up than he is that will pay it....

ANOTHER VOTE FOR 2 GRAND MAX,I PAID 4000 FOR ONE THAT WAS IN BETTER SHAPE AND HAD A 440,ANDY
