I've had my springs rebuilt as well.

My question is, shocks are mounted at the top -- in a natural position -- no jack stands or anything, should the bottom eye of the shock simply go directly onto the mount? Mine (the shock) seems to be short -- maybe by 1/2"...maybe 1" but certainly no more...but it doesn't reach the mount...

Does it sound like my springs have to much spring? Is this normal?

I did put one side on by just sliding the jack under the mount, lifting it very slightly - shock slid right on, and nothing went boom, creek or pop when I let the jack out...

That's nothing to worry about.  Just jack up the spring enough to attach the shock.

It's not a midlife crisis, it's my second adolescence.
