Ummm Chris,

I know I just pulled into the shop here after an 8-1/2 hour drive back from the 'Nats, but I noticed a little something on eBay.

Is there something you need to tell us?

:'(

hemigeno

Sorry, I didn't see the other post from Charger Aficionado...   Even sorrier to see the auction.

Hope things work out for you, no matter what!

Sorry to hear about that.  It will be a shame if you have to let it go.  It is one of the best looking cars i have seen.

I agree with Bull and I hope whatever it is blows over soon.

Wow. I hope everything works out so you can keep your pride and joy. I was forced to sell my toys in 93 when I had no work because of the recession. I know how your feeling right now. Again, best of luck.

Wow, definately not what I was thinking I'd find on the board after a weekend at the nationals.

Sorry to hear about the possiblity of having to let the Charger go. But you couldn't have asked for a better time with just having the print up in the USA Today and all. Also with the way that prices are recently, that should help too.

I know this weekend I seriously considered selling the 500. Was talking to a man who has a HEMI 500 and he was looking to add a 440 powered 69 500. He asked me 4 different times this weekend what figure would it take to go home with the 500. I told him it would need to be more than $70K, and he said "I can do that right now if you'd like."

With my wife not working, that definately a hard one to turn down. But we came home with the 500, and hopefully we will be able to afford to hold on to it for many years to come. However it is nice to know that if push comes to shove that we always have some way to come up with financial support pretty quickly.

This is exactly why I never say a price. I just say "It ain't for sale right now. If you want to leave a name and number I will let you know when i am ready to sell.

If your letting her go cause you have to Chris, sorry to hear that. Good luck and I hope things turn around for you and yours.

Hey Chris,

I hope everything is alright with your family.  If not, best of luck.

Chris,

Whatever your reasons for selling are your reasons... I have seen your car in person and it is one of the NICEST cars on the road. Question though, is it possible for you to wait until say Barret-Jackson - I know it would be a hassle, but your car would fetch MAJOR cash there.

Again, wish you didn't have to sell, but all the best to you and I hope everything works out well.

Cheers - Mike

Wow!! Chris you are the last guy I thought would sell their Charger, but I guess other things become priority. Anyway, I hope you get more than what you are asking for it and I hope everything works out in your personal situation. I'm glad that the trophy picture came in handy for you. When I get my Charger finished I'll try to make one of your Richmond County get togethers. I'm just afraid of driving the Charger on the Belt Parkway. You know the condition of that road sucks big time!!!

Chris, this has to be bitter sweet for you...I can't imagine. You obviously have a lot of blood and sweat into that car, it shws from every angle. I've been watching closely and your car went to $35K FAST, and I can see it hitting $50K before the deadline... I don't know your situation, but what may take a little of the sting out of losing her is looking for a $5K to $10K project car while the auction is still going on and earmarking some of the proceeds. I'm sure I'm not telling you anything that you don't already know or haven't thought of, but what I'm suggesting is that if you put the word out now, here, with all the members that we have, I'm sure you would have plenty of guys willing to help you find a viable candidate....just a thought...

I hate money sometimes...& what it makes us do. >:(

Good luck Chris, I hope you'll forgive me if I'm crossing my fingers that it won't sell & you'll be able to keep it. :-\

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

This isn't because your wife found out that you spent over 30k restoring it, is it? :blahblah: :smilielol:

This might be a crazy thought but I was just wondering to keep Chris's car from going to someone we dont know and outside the "membership" and still give him the chance to keep it. It would take all the members to buy a raffle ticket at let's say $ 85.00 X 700 members (if all members participate) = $ 59,500, Not sure if that covers his reserve. I guess it would be to hard to get all members to participate. Oh well just a thought.

Sorry to hear that you might have to let her go Chris. If you do need to let her go I support NYCMille's suggestion of waiting untill Barrett Jackson. Your car would definitley fetch some major cash there. Best of luck to you Chris, I hope it all works out for you in the end.

Why no mention of the super-cool custom trunk horn?

That would increase the price exponentially!

Chris I hope things change for you so you can keep the ole girl. We all know how heart broken you will be without her. Of course $60,000 may help the heart a bit :icon_smile_big:
