Interior Color Change Advice

Hi guys

Might be going to look at this 68

Just wondering what would be involved in changing the interior to black ?

I know the seats would just need recovering and headliner re-doing etc but what are my options for the door cards ? Can they be recovered black or would I need to just find new/used ones

Any idea on the approx cost of changing everything to black ?

Alternatively as a short term fix is there a paint to change the arm rests to black or white and the red inserts on the seats to black or white ?

Just so I can get rid of the red

You can paint everything, seat covers included, with SEM Color Coat.

using SEM Color Coat on my interior panels on my 78 gmc worked out well for over a decade before i ended up re-applying it again last year. I converted the plastic door panels from Tan to Black, the faded grey-ish dash and everything matched well after. as for seats, a good friend did dark green on a set of 69 SS Chevelle seats and its been driven a fair bit and no issues with wear on them either from the last 5+ years. All in all, good prep and take your time and it can be done for sure.

Honestly being black pieces all around (new or good used) I wouldn't bothered in paint but get replacement pieces.

Somebody around could be interested in white panels.

In regards to dye, that headliner is going to drink up several cans. And it will never look 100%. I would just get it changed. I got by with it in my car while I shopped for replacement parts. The upper door pads and seats took the most abuse. But they lasted years with the dye. I followed the directions and used the pre-dye prep as prescribed.
