340 X Heads

I bought a new project car and it has a 340, with X heads. Not too familiar with small block Mopar's. The X heads are they good or is there a better choice.

The 1968-71 X and J heads were the best for their time. Some feel that the later '308 casting is better, they came on 1985-91 360s if I recall correctly.
