What type of gas?

Ive heard 87 octane is fine but I thought it was atleast 91 ocatne? What is best for the engine?

depends on alot of factors,  the alititude, the type of pistons and heads, the compresion ratio.    my 452 runs on super unleaded (92 around here) it is a true 10-1 motor.  my 68 satellite has to have super or it pings link mad its 9.4-1 comresion.  my 460 ford is regular , the 69 coronet 318 is regular and our pt is regular.  the 8.9-1 383 that used to be in our roadrunner would run on water i think   lol. no compresion ratio and lots of cam overlap. infact when i tried a 50/50 mix with race gas it slowed down about .15.   

    so if you dont have any detination with regular then i feel your throwing your money away buying super.

basically use the cheapest fuel you can as long as the engine doesn`t ping

What fuel are you using now and has it given you any grief?

I run 87 octane in my V10 without trouble...my old '98 360 Magnum would ping on anything less than 92.

I don't drive my older cars a whole lot so they get 93 octane.
