And he's selling the hook separate from the rest of the jack!!!!!!!!!!!!

This "hobby of ours" is really starting to wear on me.  :icon_smile_dead:

I'm sure their will be a bidding war between to deranged Barracuda/Challenger owners that will bring the price to some astronomical level that will make those of us with most of our common sense left just shake our heads in disbelief and disgust.   :rotz:

You don't have to pay for that stuff if you don't care.

I sure don't.
Just gimme decent quality reproduction body panels and mechanical parts that work right.  I'm happy after that.

Someone else can pay $150 for a jack hook if they want.

must be  some jack hook for a   one of one ,73  hemi  r/t se- sun roof car in FM3  :P,  no offence  meant to the E -body guys , just joking around, but to think 10 / 20 years ago you would be walking over that kind of stuff discarded in the mud in most junk yards.

What does "fricken" mean?

Is that a type of jack hook?

hotrod98

I think that's the one that PG classics just started repopping.

I have a jack hook on mine in a lot better shape than that.  :o  That's crazy money though for a jack hook.

10-20 years ago? That stuff is still in junk yards now.
I'm kind of torn on the whole eBay thing. I thing it's wrong people sell crap like that, but at the same time can't really blame them for benefitting off the stupidity of others.

replace ri with u and you got the idea.

Those things are impossible to find!
I personally think that if you have a 98+ point car and your looking for the correct jack than it might be worth it to you.
Personally I would never use a bumper jack in the first place much less lug one around for show value. But to each there own I guess.

bull

I'm not totally sure but I'm betting the hook is unique but when attached to a more common jack it looks correct.

You can't blame the seller, I mean no reserve on Ebay and the bidders make there own price.

Its kinda funny.  A couple years ago I found a jack pinned underneath a motor in the trunk of a 68 satellite 4 door at a local junkyard. I managed to get it out and they didn`t even charge me for it. I had no idea at the time but it turned out to be a 70-71 e body jack with hook. Put it on ebay and started it at $25. ended up getting about $225 for it. Good for the Charger Fund :2thumbs:

It's funny what's worth money and what isn't.

But I guess that's the story of the whole hobby.
People used to dump Hemi Roadrunners onto used car lots for $2000 back in the gas crisis.

And now we've spent 15 years steadily raising the bar for restos while the parts supply keeps drying up.
It's ironic:  In 1990 nobody would have cared about that jack hook.  And in 1990, just getting a decent looking R/T with steel wheels and iron exhuast manifolds back onto the motor was a "decent stock resto."  Now we're searching & sweating over stupid little jack hooks to get a car done "right."

:iagree:  thats true  especially if you look at some of the old pictures of  stock restos in the late 80's early 90 -92 ish and compare them today .

That is absolutely insane, but like ChargerNeeded said, you can't blame the seller.  In fact, he's probably freaking out that it went so high too.
