1968 charger resto progress finally! Internal roll cage stuffed into the body , out of site.Usct car stiffening system installed ( frame ties, rocker boxes, radiator support, inner fender braces , rear leafs relocation,).rear wheel widening inner wheel houses. Mocked up and ready for vintage air ( studs are welded in place) car is ready for that monster Hemi finally.

Interesting, but not really understanding the roll cage. What is the curved (corded) bar on the front side of the rear fenderwell supposed to do?

What is the overall plan for the cage (I assume it is unfinished at this point).

My guess is that the factory used the wheel tub to support the roof structure, so the OP just went further with that. We know that a convertible is a much more flexible car than a hardtop due to the roof providing torsional resistance.
If this car ever hooks up, the roof is sure to be stressed. A stock unibody was built to meet the crash standards of the day and to be reasonably sturdy for the expected lifespan of the vehicle.
I like the idea of reinforcing the car in this manner.
